As you know or can tell, I use the WordPress platform for this website. The very first blog I started writing was using blogger but I soon migrated to WordPress as it provided a lot more functionality. Since then it has been my default platform so I know little about other platforms such as Joomla and Drupal.
Therefore I have invited someone who knows what they are talking about to compare the various platforms.

Knowing what content management system (CMS) to use while building a website or a blog is crucial to the success of your online business. The wide range of CMS options that are available on the market today can leave startups and novice entrepreneurs bewildered and as such, having a fair knowledge of what a CMS is, what features to look for when purchasing, can help spare you trouble in the future.
Currently, the 3 most popular and worldwide used platforms are WordPress, Joomla and Drupal. All 3 are a free and open-source platform. Meaning, one can make changes to these as per their business needs and requirements. They are also a flexible and responsive theme website building platform that provide you with the full freedom to design any kind of website you want, be it an educational website, a personal blog, a travel & tourism website, an eCommerce store amongst others.
But, while there are a few similarities between each of these three CMS software, there are dis-similarities too, the major one being the technical skills required to run each software.
WordPress is by far the easiest to use CMS platform as you don’t require any technical skills to run this software. Joomla requires you to have a slight knowledge of PHP and HTML. While the last CMS, Drupal is the most advanced as well as a technically evolved platform that requires you to have a basic knowledge of PHP, HTML and other scripts.
The above mentioned are just a few differences between the three platforms. However, to understand these better, here is an infographic that has explained the pros and cons of working with each of these software. As a CMS comparative study, this infographic will help make your task of choosing one for your business easier. In addition, you can also download a free PDF of this guide and keep it for future reference.
